The four components of the OPTAVIA program for "Lifelong Transformation" are the OPTAVIA Coach, the Habits of Health Transformational System, the OPTAVIA Community, and the OPTAVIA products and plans.

The coach is an independent contractor who has been through the program themselves and is meant to provide guidance, motivation, and accountability to help clients set and achieve their health and wellness goals.

3. The OPTAVIA community The OPTAVIA community is a supportive network of like-minded people who are also on their health journey. This social component provides encouragement, inspiration, and connection through various forums, including virtual events and online groups.

The first iteration of the Habits of Health System launched more than a decade ago when Dr. Wayne Scott Andersen (Dr. A) left his role as a critical care physician to build a new, more effective way to transform the lives of individuals around the world. Instead of focusing on sick-care, Dr. A developed an accessible, field-proven approach for reaching a healthy weight and unlocking the habits that make health vibrant and sustainable.


The OPTAVIA Trilogy Wheel is a concept that promotes achieving optimal health through three interconnected areas: a healthy body, a healthy mind, and healthy finances. It's a framework that goes beyond just weight loss, suggesting that balancing all three components is crucial for overall well-being. The idea is that if one area is out of balance, it can negatively affect the others.
